Thai Monks Host Blessing Ceremony For SABA’s Birthday

Thai Monks Host Blessing Ceremony For SABA's Birthday

SABA turned five on Wednesday 14th September and to celebrate, we had a very special treat for the SABA family and customers. On that day, diners were treated to massages from top Thai masseuses from the Thai Wellness Centre. Everyone who dined with us received a complimentary glass of Veuve Cliquot Demi-Sec. We had canapes and goodie bags for all who popped by.

The highlight of the day, however, was when we were joined in the early morning by Thai Buddhist monks Phrakruprabasdhammavites (PK Lom), Phramaha Sangthong Dhammacaro and Pramaha Chai Sutamedhi.  They come from Thailand and were in Dublin for the occasion of SABA’s birthday to bless SABA and all who eat there. Their mantra and chant was intoxicating and they had wise words to share with us also.

All our chefs and their families were joined by chefs from other Thai restaurants throughout the city to join in the ceremony. After the Monks had eaten, they were presented with alms. The blessing was very special and it is a memory we will all cherish for a long time to come.
