Saba: The Cookbook
In 2012, Saba owner Paul Cadden and Executive Chef Taweesak Trakoolwattana published ‘Saba: The Cookbook’. The cookbook is beautifully illustrated throughout, and all the recipes have been tested in a domestic kitchen. Authenticity is the key, and the Saba recipes in the book remain true to the origins of Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. The idea to write Saba: The Cookbook was to raise vital funds for The Crumlins Children’s Hospital and the Thai Red Cross. The book was a huge success and went on to win seven awards globally so far.
The Cookbook beat prestigious competition from around the globe to win ‘Best Asian Cookbook in the World’ at the Gourmand Awards in Paris, which are otherwise known as the ‘Oscars of the cookbook world’ in the publishing world.
In 2023 Saba was given an updated accolade and SABA: The Cookbook received the ‘Gourmand Awards Best of the past 25 Years’, at Paris Cookbook Fair in Louvre-Tuileries. Saba: The Cookbook represents Ireland in the Asian category of cookbooks published outside of Ireland.
