Brian O’Driscoll Tackles Thai Cooking

SABA was delighted to welcome Irish rugby legend and HSBC ambassador Brian O’Driscoll recently when he spent a day cooking with sous-chef Yo at the award-winning Thai and Vietnamese restaurant. Brian is a keen cook, so when put to the test he pulled out all the stops showing off his culinary skills!

Brian O'Driscoll tackles Thai Cooking

Brian cooked up a storm and was keen to get some Thai cooking practice in ahead of the British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia this June. For the first time ever the Lions will be playing a game in Hong Kong on their way to Australia, so this Saba culinary master class was perfect preparation for Brian to sample some of the delights of Asian cooking that the squad will no doubt experience on their way out to battle the Wallabies.

We were delighted to host Brian and hugely impressed by his expertise in the kitchen. He skillfully cooked dishes including Goi Cuan, Som Tam and Phad Prik Sod, which are his personal favourites from the award-winning Saba: The Cookbook. Saba: The Cookbook has won numerous awards including “Best Asian Cookbook in the World” at the Gourmand Awards in Paris.
